TERMS & CONDITONS

By accepting your place at Medlink it is understood that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions and the code of conduct (View Code of Conduct page).

Medlink also reserves the right to change without notice those lectures and presentations advertised should circumstances dictate. It should be noted that delegates must be over sixteen at the time of the course. Those over 21 years will still be accepted, but will be placed in campus accommodation separate from the younger students.

DATES

The dates of Medlink and related conferences will be as stated in the Medlink Brochure. To view the Medlink 2009 brochure Click Here . Should circumstances arise that make a change of date necessary delegates will be informed through our web-site.

LOCATION

The course will be held at the Medical School and the University of Nottingham main campus, The Medlink Exhibition will be in the East Midlands Conference Centre, situated on the campus. Overnight accommodation for Medlink will be in one of the halls of residence on the main campus. The Pathology option will be held on either the nearby Jubilee campus, with overnight accommodation there or at the main campus; details will be given in our brochure. Please note that it is a condition of acceptance that you remain on the campus at all times.

FEES

The fee for Medlink will be as advertised (VAT incl) which includes bed and breakfast accommodation on the University campus. Meals are not included, but may be purchased at student rates on campus. The optional Pathology extension is a further cost, which also includes bed and breakfast accommodation, or a lesser cost for the online version. The optional Oxbridge session must be pre-booked and will be an additional amount. Applications should preferably be made on the brochure booking form, or online or by phone, and must be accompanied by a deposit of £25 per person, balances being due in October (this is for phone and mailed bookings only). Full details of prices can be obtained from either our website or brochure. Most major credit and debit cards are accepted; cheques should be made payable to ‘Medlink’. Send completed forms to:

Medlink
PO BOX 40
Loughborough

Invoices will only be issued to institutions on receipt of a purchase order. Bookings will not be considered confirmed until full payment is made and registration details will not be mailed until payment is received.

PLEASE NOTE: VAT is charged at the prevailing rate. Even if you live outside the UK and EU, as the conference is 'delivered' in the UK, you must still pay VAT regardless of where in the world you live or book from.

RESERVING A PLACE

No closing date applies for bookings, and delegates will be accepted as long as places are available. Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment but telephone enquiries are welcome to check availability. Information will also be posted on our website, where bookings may be made by credit or debit card. Should places be unavailable, fees will be returned in full, but a reserve list will be held in anticipation of late cancellations.

CONFIRMING YOUR PLACE

Deposits will be acknowledged on receipt. Pre-registration details will be mailed from September. Places reserved with a deposit must be confirmed with the full fee by 6th October in the year that the conference is taking place. Places reserved after 6th October should be confirmed within 7-14 days of receiving your booking acknowledgement. If you have paid your deposit by credit or debit card we will automatically confirm your place and deduct the balance on or shortly after 6th October, unless otherwise instructed.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be in writing (fax and email acceptable), and in the event of illness should be accompanied by a doctor’s certificate. The fee includes a non-refundable deposit of £25. In the event of cancellations received after November 28th 2009, further £25 per night will be retained to cover costs. Refunds will take up to 3 weeks to process. No refunds will be made for cancellations received after 6th December 2009.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION

For additional accommodation please, in the first instance, contact our customer care team, Tel No 01509 233133.

ENQUIRIES

All enquiries should be made to Medlink and not to the host institution. A conference secretary will be available to deal with enquiries, Monday to Friday, between 9.00am and 5.00pm and there is a 24-hour answer-phone service on: 01509 233133 / 235879. Alternatively e-mail us on: booking@medlink-uk.info

PLEASE NOTE: As the majority of those presenting are also working doctors the presence of an individual cannot be assumed, but we will always strive for a suitable replacement. Medlink reserves the right to make any changes to the event if circumstances dictate.

PERSONAL PROPERTY

Delegates should be aware that they are responsible for their personal property and should arrange their own insurance for items of value. Items of value should be kept secure about you at all times.

MEDLINK CONFERENCE

Medlink should not be viewed as a standard school outing or trip. Whilst all steps have been taken to comply with health and safety standards and in most instances to go beyond what is required, Medlink is only suitable for mature young people with a proven sense of responsibility. Further whilst Medlink is an extremely valuable course, it should be understood that Medlink is not necessary for an application to medical school. Neither is it the case that Medlink or affiliated conferences seek to provide either a medical or first-aid education. It must also be understood that Medlink is non-aligned to any individual, group or institution, and that the presence of any individual, group or institution at either Medlink directly or indirectly via our web-site or advertising material, should not be taken as an endorsement by Medlink. Neither is it the case that any endorsement of Medlink is being made by any individual, group or institution that appears at Medlink or is to be found on the Medlink web-site or in any advertising media. The mention of any individual, group or institution is done only to inform of either their intended presence at the conference or their previous attendance at a Medlink Conference.
