The Medlink Surgery Session
Medlink is more than a 4 day course, it is an interactive learning environment offered via
the Medlink Cloud services. The Interactive Surgery
session at Medlink is the first step in a
year long process offering you the opportunity to experience:
- Interactive Surgery
- Twitter messages from surgeons
- Interaction with students, patients and surgeons
- And much more
To prepare you to get the most from what is listed above, the Interactive Surgery element of the Medlink course aims to show how you will need
to:
- Use the background material provided via the web
- Interact with others
- Work as a team
- Be given an appreciation of the level of knowledge required to follow Interactive
Surgery
For the Surgery session at Medlink you do NOT need to have viewed
the Interactive surgery. But you should have:
- Visited all the links in the on the pages on the blue sub-menu to your right
- Have an understanding of what is meant by laparoscopic surgery
- Downloaded the Medlink ToolBar
- Viewed at least some of the surgeons twitter messages (some are below for you to see)
As you will appreciate this is an ambitious undertaking and we hope that every
Medlink student is equipped with an understanding of the internet tools that we offer.
For many reasons, therefore, we are moving at a gently pace. Prospective medical students are high achievers, and as such
anxiety can set in that they have missed crucial material. Pleased be relaxed! You are not surgeons
yet and this is not a surgical training. What it is - is a preparation for your future and what
many expect to be an important element in the future training of surgeons. We want you to relax
an enjoy the process and the journey that you will have over the coming year.
